Paolo worked at RCS Digital as an operations manager for corriere.it, the online version of Corriere della Sera, after a period assimilating the fundamental elements of structure and language of the WWW, at WAIS, a US company based in the Bay Area of San Francisco, California in 1995. In 2002, he promoted and technically supported a partnership between Corriere della Sera and the Umberto Veronesi Foundation in Milan, which led to the Sportello Cancro initiative (the section of corriere.it dedicated to oncology). Pre-Internet, he worked as a systems programmer at Pirelli and then at Ciba Geigy (a chemicals and pharmaceuticals group now called Novartis).
