Ashley was born and raised in Northern Ireland and after graduating from the University of St. Andrew’s, Scotland, with a Master’s degree in modern languages, she travelled the world, working in Austria, France, Spain and Japan, before finally settling in Switzerland in 2000. After several years of teaching English, she did a postgraduate degree in translation studies and has been working as a freelance translator since 2008, specialising initially in the legal sector, but adapting to the demands of the market and now mainly translates in the field of science, pharma, technology and communication: She works regularly with various universities, public authorities, large multi-nationals and private clients.
