Valeria Camia is a journalist and social researcher, with a Ph.D. in Comparative Political Science from the University of St. Gallen and a specialization in Public Health from the University of Essex. Since 2017, she has been writing as a freelance journalist for Italian and Swiss publications, with articles appearing in Il Corriere del Ticino and La Regione. She served as editor-in-chief of the newspaper Corriere dell’Italianità. She has worked in press offices for SSR Svizzera Italiana, AllianceSud Lugano, and Archivi Donne Ticino (ADT). Since 2020, she has contributed to Ticino Scienza in the columns “Culture and Health” and “How to Communicate Science.” After more than 10 years between Zurich and Lugano, she now lives in Brussels, where she writes about public health, prevention, and equity in access to healthcare services.
